Has the competition for the grot happened yet?

I missed that you had wrote LadyEyes:/ But yes, the competition is over by now and my grot did really well, actually it won:) Now it´s another round and this will be my entry. The carpace of the gensteler will be black/grey with fleshparts in skin/red/bluish color. Lot´s of iron on the flor so I will use pigments for rust (and to break up the grey iron) and maybe a symbol of any kind in yellow maybe to break the colors. Please give me some advice, or suggestions on details.

Thanks:) It was a online contest on a swedish gaming forum. There wasn´t that many enteries but I´m happy anyway:)

I have startet to paint the Genestealer. Comments on the carpace, should I do stronger highligts?

Did some more painting on the gene, it´s need to be done in a day or two. Suggestions so far? (since the pic was taken I have painted the skull and the cabels (red).

remove the icicle?
as of now it looks like all the saliva (acid/whatever) flows down its tongue. I'd suggest trying to achieve something like this around the mouth

I know it's blood, but you could use that tutorial (check relevant section at the main CofC page) for the effect you're aiming at

So basicly its the location on the "iceicle" that makes it long wrong at first, and then the look of the iceicle itself? But doing the strings you showed above in the mouth and some down the tounge would be more realistic?
