Re: Nameless in 2011
Too bad it doesn't have a rider. Because of that it almost looks unfinished... not your fault of course.
Still it's one of your better works! I like the metallic bits the best! Good work on that area. The skin might need a couple of hotspots so to say, but it looks good.
I don't really like the base though.

no rider for now, and I don't expect MaxMini to release one. never say never though when I was assembling the wolf on the base, I imagined a rider next to it, with his hand on wolf's neck
what exactly don't you like about the base, TMZ?

Re: Nameless in 2011
Well two things basically;
The top slab looks too drybrushed. It almost makes it looks like there is a fingerprint on it. And the way you've arranged it on the plinth makes it feel unbalanced. It's fine to use a smaller plinth, but I wouldn't have created so much overhang on the front and balanced it more.
(and you have a little bit of the original woodgrain showing through on top)

Only thing I see wrong is the top of the wodden plinth is visible, other than that it's a great piece and you did it justice with your painting
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

another new company for me and my "showcase" - Urban Mammoth. I painted this for Wamped contest. No luck in general voting, but I won the UM category and was 5th in the Best Base category.
