Wow, so very nice! A tutorial on how you've made this base would be awesome! :)

I would love to be able to make a tutorial on it, but I reallly would not know where to start from...
What made it good, most probably was a good piece of wood: I live in the countriside and it is easy for me to go and look for living woods on sunday with my dog. Another good element was a little more attention to details. Extremely important to test all the elements on the base very carefully, nothing should really seem there for a chance, but becuase it fits in there. Moreover, a small plant and all its roots was, once dried, a perfect source for small, very tortured trees. Stones and other scenic elements, all tested before to glue them complete the construction.
As far as the paint is concerned, I tried to give some life to the tree, by enhancing the shadows first, and then the lights, making a lot of washes with black and brown. Then I started to diversify the colors, adding red and green, that works good together, in order to give some different aspect to some areas of the tree...I then last illuminate the top of the broken tree, enhancing the lights and tracing the edges with some stone grey or bleached bone...it just depends if you want cold or warm lights.
That was all I think...I hope you find it useful, even if not really a tutorial...maybe tips I would say...

Fantastic! I really wanna paint this guy up! How big is the mini? It's 28mm scale right? But is it a large monster or a smaller model?

Thanks
the height is 32-35 mm I guess, so the model is not that big and fun to paint

Now that is a cool base! Fantastic!

And I also like this mini. Very good skin, but this fur on his back is a little too bright for me. I'm waiting for more :)

1) What has the belly wrong in your opinion? thanks
2) the different color is recalling the chin color, I just wanted to differentiate a little
thanks for the comment
