Hi folks, I worked very hard this weekend and 2.5 big tubes of Greenstuff later...
Here is the cratter for the biopod... as you can notice is quite big.

At the begining I considered having details like some small skull or bugs but If you are going to get multiple pods you would end up with a very boring and reconizable features so I tried to make a generic cratter that can go in any terrain and get away with multiples... also the 5inches of interior can give interesting terrain and game options also.
Pod wise the cratter will be mostly covered by pod but I think the extra detailing inside cratter can give you more modelling options.
Hope you folks like it.

just a general question - wouldn't you prefer other putties for such a big sculpts, without that many details? milliput, or magic sculp, or fimo. I don't have experience, but it's obvious other putties would be cheaper. so, what are your reasons to use gs only?

when you buy greenstuff in large quantities it's not that very expensive.
I like the crater so far. reminds me of some forgeworld things but it may be just the scale...

It looks nice.
I think some power gamers wouldn`t allow it, because it is hard to say if a mini is under the template or not. As always - it depend who do you play with

Well i had GS in stock so it was faster to do it over the weekend than order other putties etc XD
On a totally diferent note I was asked from local 40k folks to sculpt one small miniature for a tournament prize... Its the masters tournament and has the best 40k players.
So I was thinking someting really simple funny and gaming evocative to be casted in resin ( since its cheaper)
After playing with ideas a made this concept.( to be honest I wouldnt mind having a army of those ehehe)

Got to my bitz box and nailed a big dice and a 30mm base, proportions are diferent from original sketch but I can live with that.

I dont want to take much time on sculpting this so the simpler the better.
Any sugestions?

Update time folks heres the cervical lash arms.
I opted to make lots of vertebraes since there are so many uses for them in a converter hands that I could not miss this oportunity.
You may wonder why cervical main arm is so strait and not bended at all and let me try to explain why its sculpted this way.
THe obvious reason is that its easier for casting but theres also a extra purpose... THese are for you to bend the way you want those lashes so instead of having a pre bended whip that looks the same over and over again you have the option to have tons of diferent bended whips in your collection... Also if you want to complement the xenomorph heads on small critters you can cut half of the cervical lash and use it for tail for amore balanced creature.
And if your nuts like me you can use the triangular shape of the the vertebraes of the big arm as a starting point for some TMC devourers...
Hope you like the Big and medium sized cervical arms.
