Re: Impact! Miniatures
Good day all ... just found this thread ... sorry that Google failed to find it for so long as I do monthly searches to try and stay on top of the online discussion on our small company.
Yeah we have the new Halfling Chef out to Laughing Ferrett currently to get a different painted look.
When the question was asked ... could we not send out figures to painters for free in return for painted images ... yes we could and almost ALL of the images on our site came from doing this.
Our experience is that figures with mediocre paint jobs still sell better than just the images of the greens in the store. After 6 years, I can promise you that we see a sharp increase in sales in a figure as soon as the painted images go up even if not the greatest.
HOWEVER ... if someone here knows they could definitely paint a figure on our website better than the current image. I'm happy to send them a few figures to see if they have the skills to back to the claim. And yes all I'll ask in return is good images of the final paint jobs.
As for an earlier commment suggesting our mould makers was losing detail from the greens ... I can assure you that is not the case. We use one of the top mould makers in the USA and if you think something has lost detail ... its the paint job not the casting.
If anyone would like to discuss with us some figures on our site they'd like to do better painted images for us in exchange for the figures ... please feel free to contact me at impactminiatures @ gmail . com

Re: Impact! Miniatures
glad to see you here as I hope you will be able to bring us some news straight from the horse's mouth so to say.
and by the way I am really impressed by how much interest in your miniatures was created by your declaration! well done
moreover you brought one interesting comment to our attention: even mediocre paintjobs increase sales. that's a good point. we've been discussing it many times: are pics of painted or unpainted miniatures better for sales. now we've got one insightful comment from somebody knowledgeable.

Re: Impact! Miniatures
Impact! has exactly two employees and we are both owners of the business. My partner Chris is normally the one who posts our new materials on forums ... I'll make sure to ask him to stop by.
I've noticed looking through the thread that a majority of the paint jobs that you did not like were done by one of painters. He's a great guy and it was very difficult to say no to him when he wanted to paint something. He is also a really good painter ... however he gets busy and then we say "hey we really need to get that painted image" and then he just knocks it out to finish it rather than producing a model that is equal to his talent level. As has been commented when he does this things like highlights and shading to any real degree get missed. Due to changes in during 2011 ... it is most likely that we will never use him again.
As we get new greens in ... I'll be happy to post them here and see if any of you are interested to painting them for us. I only ask one thing for this ... no more than 2 months please to get the painted image.

As Tom mentioned, I'll make sure we post our new items as they become available. I don't want to spam the forum, but I did want to highlight a couple of our newest releases.
My own personal pet project, Maude the Valkyrie Cheerleader. She comes with both sets of arms.

Re: Impact! Miniatures
A quick shout out to LadyEyes who has taken the challenge and will be painting some halfling cheerleaders for us. We will be mastering a full mould this month and should have a new batch of minis soon.
