I'm not rushing you, Mahon, just giving you ideas to consider

- I don't mind the colours;
- I'd like avatars on the left side. it's more natural to me - we read from left, and I prefer to know the author prior to reading a post
- new forum cuts pics which are too big to fit on a page. can you make something so that such pics are shrunk, not cut?

OK, since it's general preference to have avatars on the left - so be it!
As for colors - they (and the whole layout) will be adjusted to the site, because the forum is supposed to become a part of the site again.
As for pics - they should be resized to fit, but I didn't install one library which is necessary for this purpose. But I am aware of it and will do it.

But now I have to finish my ME2 entry. Then we're going to Germany, so probably it won't be done before we return. But who knows?
