At first I was fairly pleased, but the photos made me realize I'll probably need to add more contrast and clean up a couple spots. Comments welcome as always.
the hair is a nice touch and the different shades are a really nice touch
i think you're right about the contrast, a little more and it'll look great. I think with your metallic bronze you could possibly highlight the edges with mithril silver and use an orange or brown wash to colourise? it . Drill the holes in your gun too
.
Mahon suggested to me a while ago to try using bleached bone to highlight my reds for more contrast and one other thing is if you have a steady hand is to get some brown ink and black (brown
) line the darkest areas that'll give you some extra shading.

I'll keep your suggestion in mind for the bronze, although I'm leaning towards more shading rather than attempting to highlight it further. The coloring itself was a dwarf bronze base coat, couple layers of red ink/wash, followed by burnished gold highlights.
I honestly hate using pure metallics (have I said that already?
)
When you mention bleached bone highlights are you talking about pure bleached bone? Seems like that may be a bit too strong, perhaps a red/bone mixture or straight bone with a red wash over the top?

Ah i used the bleached bone as an additive, although in some cases i did take it up to the extremes.
My example of using bleached bone https://img366.imageshack.us/img366/2230/pict0564ig6.jpg
You can always give it a red wash over the top anyway to help the transition look smoother but as it stands i think it looks quite smooth. You know it could just be the photo anyway.
