too tired to comment now, but I always wanted to know how to paint scratched paint, like on the shoulder pad. I can't recall any good tutorial, so perhaps you'd be willing to share some secrets?

The gun looks MUCH better now and the pads are brilliant, I too would be interested in a small tutorial from you on the weathering you do.

I can tell the axe is not yet finished but there were two things that struck me as needing to be done. The two wires on the axe blade should be painted as electrical wires, one red and one black would be easiest, though you could go with other colours to represent live wires. The axe haft (handle) shouldn't be metal since it would then end up electricuting the wielder every time he struck something, I'd suggest painting it to look like wood instead. The nut at the bottom of the haft could remain metal though.

Really like the base, especially the weathering and the peeling rusty metal.

LOVE THE BASE and the hand on the first picture. Looks very natural.

The peeled paint reminds me of Benathai's ork tanks. Which is a good thing.
But the nicest part of this model seems to be the excellent weathering on metallics. I'd be happy to see some tips posted by you for us to read.

The face still needs some work though. Don't you think?

Tips: on the bolter, a basecoat of boltgun is done, then a very controlled weathering with black diluted paint is done, alternatively a mix of dark blue, dark brown and dark red will serve the same way and will give a violet-brown aspect. This depends on you.
Then a very controlled darkening where you want to draw the shadows is done both with dark brown+black or alternatively with humo. THe first giving more blackinsh finish, the second more brownish finish
The rust on the base is done with rusty color powders on a ochre/beige basecoat, together with a dark red+dark blue violet finish for weathered but overwalked rust. But powders are really making the difference.

THe face on the last picture is a memory, it was the first cut. The one at the beginning of the post was better, but on the basis of your inputs I already highlighted it, even though the hair still need enhancement. Soon I'll do other pictures.
