It's still a blow to hobbyists, though, to lose the metal figures. I think it's a trend we're going to have to slowly face, sadly. If it comes down to prepainted plastics OR the company going out of business altogether, we may have to accept prepainted plastics.

There will always be the little guy, though. Like Hasslefree and Freebooter. Plastics are cheaper only if you know you'll make (and sell) enough to justify the high production cost. For small-scale production, white metal will still be cheaper, and the niche market is large enough to support them.

Man i take my business to were i want, i dont have to accept a turd just because its done by rackham... if the company just wants to make turds to survive then its better go under then to fill market with miniatures wannabes.

Er... let me re-phrase that: if you want to continue playing the game the company makes, you may have to accept pre-painted. If the game is unimportant to you, or you're happy with not adding newer figures, you'll go elsewhere. Which, if you're primarily a painter, is what you'll do. I don't play Confrontation, so all Rackham is doing as far as I'm concerned is ensuring I won't buy any of their product. Or, at least, ensuring I buy like mad until the metals disappear.

And I assure, you, I am doubly upset by this- since we will be distributing Rackham, I get a discount on their stuff. Unfortunately, I get this discount right as they stop producing anything I would buy.

My big R collection was bought with painting/gaming in mind, R killed both with PPP and trashing of skirmish for regiment game. Theres nothing there for the painter and the gamer in me unfortunatly.
With that in mind im selling a part of my collection.

I understood what you said earlier

I was just ranting a bit with all this rackham smelly atitude

Next 6 month will be crucial for R, i hope they just leave the hobby industry in peace and stop motivating more PPP in the hobby.

for me it can be plastic - but please not rubbery PPP!
as for loss in Rackham metal minis sales - I wonder whether it`s caused by metals being bad bussiness or by making statement they`re going toward PPP and pissing of their customers

No schadenfreude here... but you have to believe in karma when you read it.
Rackham dumped the old fan base in a blink of an eye and with a charming straight forward attitude had no hang ups telling they don't really care.

As we've talked with many people: if they kept the skirmish game low profile but running (just add old cards to the box) the bitching would be so much smaller.

I'd say Adieu to Rackham anyway (prepaints) but at least we would have parted as friends. The way they played it out, there is not much grief when I read the news.
