Do you still remember that some people use miniatures for gaming?

What you should have done is cast mageblight every turn to cancel sorscha's feat and windrush/spellcasting.

I've noticed that: really nasty combo!
to all cryx players - beware of this cold bit*h and her dirty tricks!
ToMaZ wrote:The greylords should be destroyed with shooting or an area of effect spell. You can't come close with regular infantry because they use their spray attack to destroy them.
I know that too...
these coc**uckers annihilated whole squad of mc-thralls and pistol wraith in a moment!
I underestimated greylords and their abilities :?
ToMaZ wrote:Use soulgate to transport the slayer near the enemy warcaster (use a ghost for getting close) Together with mageblight it should have taken care of sorscha, or at least tied her up and hurt her, so you can use goreshade or something else to finish her off.
yeah, yeah: easy to say, difficult to ho:
how can I cast these spells in one round having only 7 focus poins?

you don't need both in one round...plus a skarlok can help you on the way :)
Mageblight lasts a complete round, so that's your turn and the opponents. During that, set up the kill, drop mageblight if necesary, and use soulgate. Sorsha will be too busy to retaliate immediatly after that. She might get away, but the advantage is yours then.

Sorsha is just difficult for everyone. She's overpowered. I hardly ever use her anymore. She doesn't provide a challenge, isn't fun to play against and even gets boring to play with

last weekend I had the occasion to play 2 warmachine battles: both using my fav caster - goreshade, and both against khador;
several things more I learnt:
-scarlock is definitely NOT waste of points: when You have to cast mage blight each turn and give a focus point to deathjack there's no other way to cast some nasty spells other way that by scarlock thrall and DJ
-gorman is also worthy fielding: it's great for camoulaging warcasted with smoke bombs; black oil and rust grenades are also extremly nasty if used properly
-consumption spell: WOOOOOOW :!: I casted it only once but because od extremly lucky rolls I managed to inflict 15 damage points on devastator! :D that's another reason to field scarlock
-mechanithralls: more reliable that bile thrals: combo strike combined with rust bomb can do a miracle
-I'm still testing machine wraiths but so far they proved thay can be nasty for enemy jacks

I've just came back from the warmachine battle: I even managed to loose it... :dead:
once again I faced that cheatin' bit*h sorsha but this time there was no gorman* who could save my poor caster...
so here is some stuff I learnt today:
-khador jacks are not as heavy as they appear
-otoh sorsha is MUCH heavier then I thought :? I had some problems with killing that dog-lady during previous battles but there was always gorman around ready to share with his grenades, today he fled :x
-windrush is more annoying than my mageblight - it's almost impossible to hit someone with defence 20!
-things I hate from this day: distrupting bolts and freezing effect...

so if anyone wants to join "let's lynch the sorsha club" send me PM

*this moron had the honour to see deathjack from a VERY close distance - and ran away  :x

because of x-mas I had the occasion to update cryx-o-blog :zombie:
today before afternoon I had another confrontation with khador but this time I fielded asphyxious battle group:
- lich
- 5x death chickens
- deathjack
- skarlock thrall
- gorman
- pistol wraith

things I learnt:
- 4 rippers are enough, at least against army which doesn't shoot too much
- deathjack is damn tough: he managed to stop double charge of juggernaut and destroyer - if not the fact he has been ice caged by greylords a minute before I'm sure he could avoid being disabled... after that battle I think DJ is not the best jack for lich: it's more that 1/4 points concentrated in one model which demands focus point each turn :? I think next time I'll rather test slayer + mechanithralls instead of deathjack
- sorsha is total b!tch: it's damn hardcore to get close enough her with death chicken to bath her in breath of corruption several times :?
- gorman is still one of the "must have " units in the army; althought he didn't play decisive role today he helped me in kiling sorsha with acid bomb, and his black oil works MUCH better than death chill attack from pistol wraiths :gun:

I hope to play again on monday so I can test if I learnt enouth today :scholar:

You'll need the 5th one as soon as you come up against widowmakers. They can disable one arcnode in a turn because they can chooce the column that takes damage (instead of a roll) :)
Deathjack is indeed a bit too much for the lich on the 500 pts scale. The fact that he nearly survived a charge from a destroyer AND jugger leaves me shocked  (see, shocked  )
- sorsha is total b!tch: it's damn hardcore to get close enough her with death chicken to bath her in breath of corruption several times :?
If I were you I would ask your opponent to field another caster than sorscha ;) SHe's not fun to play against, and only fun to play with if you only care about winning IMO
- gorman is still one of the "must have " units in the army; althought he didn't play decisive role today he helped me in kiling sorsha with acid bomb, and his black oil works MUCH better than death chill attack from pistol wraiths :gun:
Gorman is pretty versatile yes, but I lose him somewhere in the first 3 turns when I play by a channeled spell from within 5", area of effect blast or just because they want him dead

Do you ever play against Cygnar or Menoth?

maybe yes, maybe no: pistol wraiths should deal with them :gun:
but my opponent prefers jacks than living models so at least now I have to cope with other problems on the battlefield
ToMaZ wrote:Deathjack is indeed a bit too much for the lich on the 500 pts scale.
yup: kinda expensive arc node especially I had no occassion to charge with the DJ on anything... :? [/quote]
ToMaZ wrote:If I were you I would ask your opponent to field another caster than sorscha ;) She's not fun to play against, and only fun to play with if you only care about winning IMO
well she's the only caster my friend has atm although today he mentioned sth about purchasing irusk :army: I hope soon he'll get bored with same game style on every battle and add new caster to his battle group

well gorman may appear nothing special but that sneaky bushwhacker saved my butt from extremly hard troubles - black oil simply rocks when enemy caster gets too close 8)

only several times against proxed menoth, never against cygnar

If Poland were closer, I'd love to play. I don't see my Menites crossing the Atlantic any time soon, though.

Thoughts on bile Thralls vs. McThralls:
Biles are amazing at killing infantry. Even with Purge having been shortened to 6" early on, it will toast most infantry. And infantry that actually survives the Purge will have to roll against Corrosion at the start of their turn. Single wound infantry usually doesn't stand up to this very well. They can purge in melee, too. Very evil.

That said, McThralls are awesome for hitting harder targets. Biles are nice for soft, squishy troops. McThralls can tangle with jacks, big solos, etc.

Goreshade's free Bane Thralls is like playing with an extra 84 points (don't remember exact cost, but it's close).

Pistol Wraiths are pretty scary. I've got Exemplars Errant now though, so they don't scare me quite as much when I play Menoth. When I play Mercs, that's a different story. I hate being hit with a Death Chill!

I might add a Bloat Thrall to your collection. He's only RAT 3, but he drops a 5" blast and takes out troops nicely. The new Brute Thrall seems like he'd be a good addition too. You've already grown fond of the McThralls. Why not super-size one?
