scibor & stamp/relief-ing

How to convert or sculpt a miniature? How to make a decent base or even a full diorama?!

Scibor is a nice sculptor, but I don't understand why his so popular. His sculpts aren't that different or original from others. I guess this guy just found out a nice way to make money out of a talent of his. He has a logo, sharp pictures and conversions of popular mini's and most of all, his sculpts look very clean. Guess that's just all there is to Scibor. (Don't get me wrong, I wish him all the best in the world)

Would like to see him paint something though...

I've seen painted stuff from him. He does that every now and then. Just look in his Cmon gallery and you should be able to find some...

Hi :)
I have some free time today and find this subject.

I do not know why my conversions provoke as many negative emotion.
I found some coments at my cmon gallery where somebody write that my molds are immoral, other guy wrote that my figures should not be published at cmon.

I call my conversion as conversion and I can not understand why I have to explain that I useed some parts from GW becouse in CONVERSION it is goes without saying.

I designed 90% of my molds in computer and it is the best tool to get sharp and symetric patern. I think that sculptor should use tool which can gives him best effect.

If I am author of file in computer with design of mold I think that I am also author of pressed part.

I am not author of plastic GW parts and pressed heads but I call my models conversion.

If I use for example 3D printer to create designed by me patrts who is authot. I think that I am but some people think that author is 3D printer.

In my gallery are many figures sculpted from the base without any GW parts and I call them "sculpted" and Iam going produce them.

All is clear?

I am going use my computer techniqe of molds in my sculptures for production. I hope that nobody attack me that I am not author of that figures.

yeah, and I think christmas sophie is immoral 'cause she offends my religious feeling about santa...
I can say the same about whole range of minis representing naked or half-naked women but I didn't hear about anyone who feels offended by such immorality...

imo it's high time to finish the discussion - it leads to nothing

In my humble opinion Scibor is not the one to excuse for his work... Really, he found a method nobody else found and now some poeple seem to be jealous... I mean, the Minis look great, if you wouldn´t know how he does it you would congratulate him for his superb skill...

So... who cares...?...

who cares what these people on CMON say ;) A lot of developing and designing is done by digital software these days. Didn't gw say some time ago that they were developing a system for producing their minis by pc. Designing miniatures in 3D and then use some sort of laser to cut them out of a big chunk of plastic I believe. (or something like that)

I would use the software too if I had it. It would make it easier and it looks good. I can understand some people's views on your miniatures Scibor, but they can show their opinion in a nicer way and they must accept that everyone has their own way of sculpting (or painting or whatever). I don't think that any way of sculpting is better.

For me only the endresult counts, not the way the result is achieved. I think most of your miniatures look great and I'm sure that a lot of others think the same way. You'll always have these guys that try to pull it down... I say f**k them and design some more molds to piss them off even further

hope your talking in a general sense and did not conclude that from the opinions on this thread.

Negative emotions can be for many reasons, i think Trovarion also has to deal with those nerds... my advice to you is just ignore them and do what makes you feel happy... tecnique/talent/art or not are just details... the important thing is that you should have fun has a goal...

why fun has a goal? well wen your doing artwork it really shows on the piece if you enjoyed doing it or not.
So Scibor have lots of fun and do what you do best 8)
