Very smooth painting overall, very little errors. By the way I don't think it's a mold line on the leg? Just a feature on the pants and boots?
Some areas have very good contrast: skin, blanket roll, etc. It would be cool to see this in other areas as well especially the dark browns and reds have little contrast.

Cool job, the only remark i can make is the higlight on the black back thing, its too strong for the rest of the stuff near it.
Other the that good job

Although harsh in few places, like the already mentioned blanket, it is a decent paintjob.
I like the skin, even without midtones, and the smoothness on the shield.
I like the clothes and leather parts as well.
The helmet however would benefit from some more highlight, and so would the sword.
Altogether nice job!

Thanks guys, agree about the crits. The line on the boots and pants is a molded in detail and not a missed line (thankfully!).
I like the point about the skin, I will work in more glazes of colour on my next mini. I am trying an Ogre so if the colours come out a little wierd it might still look a little more natural being on a monster instead of a human. If that makes sense. I'll post plenty of WIP stuff to pick your guys' brains over.
Also good point about the shading on the red and metals etc. I'll push it further!
Barton the earth is fine sand painted Vallejo flat earth. It get's washed with very thin Vallejo Olive Drab, Black Brown, Orange Brown in spots and GW thinned purple and black washes in spots. I haven't drybrushed it with anything and I am contemplating doing that on the next on eof these bases I do.
Thanks again for the comments and crits, I really value them!
