I'd won the first turn and we played Distant - Guidons, so essentially 2 zones 2 objectives and we had to move the objective into our zone to score 1 pt and destroy the enemy objective for 2 pts
Deployment:
(Cryx)Mcthralls on the far right, bile thralls on the far left and everything else in the middle, splitting the bonejacks into each flank and the middle
(Menoth) Zealots were facing off vs bile thralls, daughters, nicia, seneschal, reckoner and vassal were facing the mcthrall mob, the rest of his stuff were in the middle.
Turn 1:
(Cryx) i ran pretty much everything up straight ahead and took over the middle ground, i also just ran Denny into B2B with the objective so next turn i could start moving it into the objective zone, with the withershadow and the heavy warjacks all around denny as a big mass of metal and blockage for him. I moved gerlak forwards into the forest behind the biles.
(Menoth) the sisters moved cautiously into the middle slight but still on my right flank the reckoner ran forwards next to the objective on his side, the zealots ran forwards cautiously too so i couldn't get too close.
Turn 2:
(Cryx) i moved the bile thralls forward into the forest between me and the zealots, the slayer, gerlak and the withershadow moved to the front of the hill getting ready to smash anything that came towards me. The reaper moved past the hill almost to the centre of the board behind a wall but staying fairly close to the hill so the others on the hill could help support. I arc noded a scourge onto the revenger knocking it down, a daughter and nicia. Then i ran forwards the mcthralls to block him. Denny also moved closer to the zone with my objective, so next turn i'd be scoring next turn.
(Menoth) he mini-feated and bombed my bile thralls killing all but 2 of them, lots of scattering and firey death ! but he did leave 2 ready for a purge next round ^^. Aiyana and holt missed the reaper hiding behind the wall. One of his daughters moved into a position to kill one of my necrosurgeons and crippled part of my tarpit he managed to kill about half of the mcthralls too but not the brute thralls. The reckoner missed the other necrosurgeon.
Turn 3:
(Cryx) i purged and hit all but his UA for his zealots and i managed to kill one of my stitch thralls lol. I then moved denny and feated, she then put parasite onto the reckoner and crippling grasp onto the revenger, i was also in a position to be scoring this turn. I used the skarlock to venom 3 of his daughters and killed them quite easily due to the feat but got revenge for the loss of a necrosurgeon, which also netted me a soul token. I charged in the mcthralls and brute thralls, 2 mcthralls onto the revenger, 1 brute and 2 mcthralls onto the reckoner taking down the reckoner to 5 health and the revenger was luckier and still had plenty of boxes on it, i ran one of brutethralls to engage a choir member, gorman and the seneschal just to tie them up. My other models moved forwards to prepare to kill things. Score 1 for me
(Menoth) The corrosion killed all but 3 zealots, he then took gerlak down with the zealots bombs but i made a tough roll and he remained a threat on the board. His remaining daughters tried to kill some mcthralls but didn't do so well. His reckoner took out 1 mcthrall the revenger killed 2 mcthralls. He charged blood of martyrs into gerlak and killed him and sidestepped closer towards my withershadow and killed 2 of them with his MAT 10 POW 20 ! :/. Aiyana and holt missed the reaper again sitting behind his hill. Nicia charged into the reaper and did very little damage to it, he was not in a good position for my next turn. Gorman did nothing to the brute thrall but he did kill the brute with the senschal. Score 2 for me
Turn 4:
(Cryx) I moved the skarlock into position to venom his last daughter, nicia and a choir member killing all 3, using the soul token to boost to hit nicia. I had given full focus to the slayer which was in a good position to move and throw blood of martyrs away from Thrya, but then we realised that i'd score a third point this turn i'd win. He also realised he couldn't use sidestep to get close to the withershadow due to being out of Thrya's control, so he'd potentially set himself up for some slayer throwing/headbutting and some withershadow action.
So it was a great game for me i managed to tarpit well and counter pretty much all of his stuff but i realised that having 10 bile thralls in one big unit isn't very productive and 2 smaller units would be better, also i've not been using 3 arc nodes very much, i use 2 at most for now, so i may drop one, but i want to leave those points for nightmare. Some playing around needed but it's quite a good list it can both tarpit, take down infantry and heavy armour. I need to spread the corrosion goodness a little bit. Perhaps take 2 units of 6xmcthralls instead of 1 unit of 10xmcthralls but 10mcthralls is a really nice tarpit.
For Joseph's force, he doesn't like being swarmed by so much infantry and because his covenant wasn't glued together he'd forgotten about it completely. But he is considering taking out the revenger and putting in the redeemer as he likes his shooting and there was not enough templates for his liking.
