If those are really two-piece plastic models, than kudos GW - nice work.

Those startboxes are more and more interesting and the minis less static.

First impression was for me mind-blowing. After a closer look I found not every mini fitting my taste, at least not in the whole. For ex. the griffon has beautifil rider and wings, but the lower part has oddly huge claws. Those ellyrians are fantastic for me and it will be pleasure to paint. From what I see for the whole High Elves the design will be changed in close future - tailoring of robes and armour has changed also.

On the whole the quality of those mianitures is really high, if we compare it to other starting boxes of course. Not many skavens shown so far unfortunately and the new rat ogres and doom-flyer are the most interesting delicious for me.

It looks like the quality of the SPace Hulk mini's was no fluke. Awesome stuff looks like to me.

The familiars look like a re-release of old familiar models, but what about the traitor legions? These look like the old versions. Are they being discontinued or re-released or what?

I think it's just a way for them to make an ungodly amount of money on models that have been out of production for a while. Space Marines have something fairly similar, marines in every mark of armor up to... V, I think.
