I think Maru's topic is a good reference because his painting style is so unique - he pust more emphasis on lights and shadows and color variations than smoothness and technical perfection. really interesting.

going to show something new any time soon, Scott?

SO I see ton's of things could be better. Not sure how far to push black cloth, but I didn't go far enough for sure on this mini. Also the skin doesn't look as good to me as it does in the hand. I think I must go stronger with the contrast so it looks decent in photographs. I did try to add a lot of colour hues int the flesh. I worked with red, blue, green, purple, and I thought I got some nice purple added into the face esp. but I don't think it show's up that well in the photo. Fire away please!

I was just thinking how much better the skin looked on this one compared to the other one you did but if you see faults in your own work then anything I say about it is moot, I do like the way the hood turned out am I right in assuming your trying to make it look like leather?
