I think the vampiress would look better if the picture wasn't so dark. I knoiw they are trying to set a mood, but some of the detail is lost. The vampire shadow is a neat concept and very well executed.

Unless the shadows are painted on... which seems pretty likely.

Some really nice work there, the model adds alot to the character of the vampiress and i think the colour tones are nice, I can see where dragyn is coming from but its still very atmospheric, maybe that was the goal of the painter?

I think you both are right. It was just first impression to me was it was too dark, but looking at it more the intent was to create a dark forboding atmosphere with much of it painted flat black and the blue roses presenting the contrasting color to capture your attention.
