ok here we go :)
you got ther Hromatic aberations
chill out is not your foult its lences :)

so whas wrong ?? - bacckround - you painteda mini in rather dark colors end put it on bright baccground (it is white or a bluisch ??)
so the matrix of you camera (as eny digital camera) mey fit only some ramge of colors end will "tweek" others - in your case the bone color (missed) end borders betwen mini end bacckround (not corected abberation)
beside photo is a little to dark (beter that whay then over expoused) but you could fix it by moving in Levels the right markeron the left side (a bit)

now about ?Painting :)
strange mini as it is "stiched" leady your painting looks symilar like stiched from works of difrent persons ..
a realy cool pained legs iven if they are difrent bout are paited well then we got quite boring pantys end gorset , realy cool heat , end completly out of the place yellow hand (but it is not painting yellow bad as on another hand end leg is superb)
hairs - could get a stronger more brave hifghtlights to asdd a "glare" to the locks

Skin .. thats whole difrent story
backof left leg - good
front of sameleg - boring .. -_-'
Torso - looks like Wip .. -_-
Face .. duno how it looks like casted .. but thats not yours best faces .. loks caind "over worked" in some places end then forgoten in another (lips )

BTW as you see a bright base on bright bacckround = no abrations :) (thats why i made photos of base on wich im working on leatly on dark bacground - base is quite dark end consist of very clouse colors )

I am really happy the face looks so good. It was surely not easy with this sculpt. The makeup really helped a lot.
No more comments for the moment, because I don't want to finish the discussion with my post. I'll give others a chance and if need be, I will return with remaining comments :)

The hair looks great
The skin is nicelly done and the face you manage to fix it

The parts i think needed another route are:
The cello and the bone, the grey makes the hand disapear
The yellows look a bit flat

Other then that its a well done job

After the assassination of Abraham Erskine and the only succesful test patient Steve Rogers during the final trials of Operation: Rebirth the United States Army was forced to accelerate contingency plans to keep up with the Nazi super soldier program. In 1942 Millionaire industrialist Howard Stark delivered with engineering and steel the super soldier chemistry had hoped to provide. Under a shroud of secrecy Howard Stark perfected his creation and and unveiled his new armour construction that would allow for America to deploy it's own answer to Nazi Germany's "Red Skull".

Pictured is Howard Stark at Normandy in 1944. By the end of the War only a handful of suits had been constructed, though several different weapons configurations had been succesfully field tested by Nick Fury and the "Howling Commando's".

So that's my little blurb. This is also my entry for my "American Flag" challenge over on WAMP. I had a lot of fun painting this mini and it took a lot of patience. I'd love to hear any and all crit's! This was for sure the most amount of time I have sunk into a single mini. Thanks gang! Feel's like forever since I posted a mini anywhere. Yikes!

Cool fig!! :D I really like that blue tone. What colours did you use for that? It's painted very nice too. Good contrast, smooth highlighting. Good job on that

Crit's: The pouches on the are the weakest part. They need more highlighting. And all the reds could use a bit more work IMO. Something like some edging on that fist or some reflection on that gas tank, some soft scratches or a decal/freehand maybe on the ammo drum. The pistons on his legs could use some oil ;) The tubes on his back a bit more highlighting to make the rings stand out a bit.
The face looks good, better than the hand, but he does look a bit scared don't you think? :) A bit like he needs to go to the toilet real bad but it take an hour to get out of that damn suit.. the 'oh crap' expression ;)

It's a good fig. I really like it. Some parts just could stand out a bit more.

I like it a lot - with all the story behind it, concept and color scheme. I only think that a little bit of weathering would make it yet better.

I think that a bit of stronger shading on the pouches would be a good choice, too. They would benefit from some extra contrast.

Weakest part for me? The eye. It seems a bit big and scared.... Or was it your intention?

Good points guys. The eye was not supposed to look so spooked! It's one of those things that exists IRL, but MAN does it get amplified by the camera! I'm not at all saying it isn't there, only that I didn't think it was to that extant. MAN is he scared/suprised. I tried fixing it but I think I was doing more harm than good.

Y'know what else I missed? Drill the gun barrel. Sigh. Don't know why I didn't.

I pirposely chose not to weather the mini much at all. Just a little of the sand pigment from the base on the feet. I wanted the fresh comic booky kind of look. I am REALLY looking forward to trying out some weathering as I got the Todd Swanson Miniature Mentor download (I think it's a very fun and fun looking tutorial for anyone interested) and one of these Grindhouse APE mini's would be perfect for it too.

The blue was a basecoat of VMC Dark Prussian blue. I shaded with P3 Coal Black and then some GW black wash in some parts as well. Some places I mixed it a little with some coal black too. I added VGC Enchanted (or magic blue. whatever it's called) to the dark prussian up to pure enchanted blue. Then I added VMC Sky blue to the enchanted blue up to pure sky blue. On some edges I used pure white.

For the red I did some edge highlights with GW bronzed flesh and some yellow added to the bronzed flesh in areas. It's not all that noticeable in the pics or IRL. Could maybe go a bit stronger with it next time, especially on some of the hard edges along the top.

For sure more time and patience added to the pouces and little details would have helped make this mini stronger. TY for the crits guys!

thanks for the colour build. Coal black is probably my favourite P3 colour :)

Hi, very cool model.
I like the base, and how you have achieved the rust effect/old metal. That's great. One thing I would change is to add some cleaner silver, especially on the edges (I can see some on the pictures, but I personally would enhance it).
Another thing that bothers me even more is the lack of shadows. Under the "ammo-belts", in the "armpits" etc. Also, using shadows and highlights you could stress the barrel shape of the robot - by far it is flat and you relly on its actuall shape only. Also its head may have a bright spot, highlighted by the light source.
