Good neat job on the OSL in the eyes and the battle damage on the armor. All in all it's coming along nicely, but some smaller points to consider:

Your working on the metallics, and it shows :-) You can see the metallic flakes when you have painted, and it's a bit uneven. I'm not sure, but it might just be a different dillution on the paint or just give the the paint can a good shake... You might also try to smoothing it out with some washes of black/brown.

The weathering/rust on the armor is pretty good, but I would add some bare metal to the rust on the right knee, and the serious rusting on the armor on the "flap" closest to the backpack is too powerful I think. The OSL on the gun is a bit rough as well. See if you can feather it a bit further out so that the line between the silver and blue isn't so sharp.

Personally I think I would have done the chest eagle, imperial markings and shoulder skull in a bone-ish color rather then copper metallic, to make the contrast between different materials lesser.

All in all a good job so far, and I'm fairly certain I couldn't have done it better 8)

Started playing with the base, will probably be pretty simple with it as its really just a fun piece I am doing while working on other things.

I like the details, but for me this grey armour needs more highlights
IMHO the best parts are the gold wings and the eyes and green fabric too.
On your place I would try to paint the sword in a more interesting way - the silver doesn't look too smooth.

I can see somebody here got much better :)

you managed to improve your highlights and smoothness (the last mini) and details (the marine).
what really bothers me is the quality of metallics on the marine. tell me they're not finished yet, please...

Most likely not done with the marine but have a huge range of techniques I want to try out that I learned from gencon but the marine doesn't support them. Hmm... maybe I can finish him up while I base coat my other projects.

Thanks by the way. I got a lot of compliments while I was at gencon on how I improved over the year and you can ask ladyeyes I blamed it on regular and good feedback.

progress is definitely visible, Neolis, keep up the good work :)

skin looks pretty unnatural with those dark shadows. Was that your goal?
Metallic parts need some definition, and red cloth - some more contrast.

yeah the character is a dead god pulled from the Styx when his magical hammer is found. Think of it as a evil Thor. So I wanted him unnatural and dark also tried for a little ashen in the upper most highlights. Former god touched by the powers of death and time sore of thing.

Been working on the cloth but still having issues with his the crest of his helmet.
