you should be bolder with adding nuances of different colors to your faces. re-read Morsi's tutorial from the main site and do it, but bolder
it will do...

I got a new camera, and with it a WHOLE new world of challenges. For the first time I feel like I have accurate colour in my pic, but the sort of slightly blurred focus is troubling to me. Hopefully that goes away when the macro lens shows up at the end of the week. Any tips, camera or mini wise? This mini doesn't have much of an improvement on the face, as has been suggested previously because of the cowl thingy. I look forward to trying to really go at the face of my next mini. Anyway, all tips super appreciated.

It's a Canon RebelXS something 1000. I have a macro lens coming too. How do I sharpen the image while processing?

HOLY SMOKES!!! I just spent a couple minutes fooling around in GIMP and found the "sharpen" filter and yeah... it makes a BIG difference! TY Mahon!

I like the skin tone very clean and well defined, just think that blood is missing in such a nasty guy

Re: Scott Radom's stuff.
This was for a commission. I'd change some stuff like the blade and colour of the hilt for sure if left up to me.
This was mostly done about 3 weeks ago, I just had some small revisions I needed to make.
So, for the camera settings, This was on about 1/100 shutter speed, light of +1, and the f-stop was 9ish.

Very nice. I really love the base. Blacks are good. Skin is good but could use some stronger highlights. I don't really like the lighter cloth, compared to the rest it looks rushed.
I also liked that other fig. Very good whites and I like the maple leaf freehand. Nice striking contrast. Again I have to say that the skin could use some more highlighting. Other than that a very good fig!

that blade is so below your standard.... what's the reason for that - lack of time?ScottRadom wrote:I'd change some stuff like the blade
