Thanks all, i was going for a darker look on the model in general so i thought a black primer would help that along (something different from the bright eldar floating around ^^) but i prefer working from black upwards anyway. Im thinking maybe adding some white or elf flesh to the mix to highlight the model but also give it some extra depth, but only on the extremes. The robes so far only took me a couple hours and that was only the back :/
@Demi & Nameless: maybe i could sneak on some tzeentchy symbols and use him as an infiltrator
Anyway more work to come later tonight, hopefully i can finish all his robes tonight. Spent quite a bit of time last night painting the base.

And for my second trick, i brightened up the green a bit and did the front too, i want to do some freehand on the back but i haven't decided what to do next anyway have a look:

The colours are quite simple actually
the green: dark angels green > slamander green > jade green ( I think this one is oop) > skull white
the grey/white: chaos black > enchanted blue > skull white
I tried to blend everything in together, sudden changes look strange to me. I will take some close up shots of the front skirt bit later tonight if i remember, hopefully that will make things a bit more clear. It's actually been a while since i've done proper robes etc since most of what i've been painting is armour, so this is a really nice change and challenge. I am thinking that some of my shading between the raised areas are too uniform and that looking at normal cloth the crevices all have differing shades of colour so it's something i need to work on. Im happy with the white areas more then the green and i spent alot longer on that bit too.

A quick update, been working more on the bonesinger model, i think a few more days and i'll finish him. Tried my hardest to get the blends on the helmet smooth last couple days
but so far im happy with him. Sorry for the slightly out of focus pics but it gives the general idea anyway.
