LOL! I do... I dont know what you heard or who told you and to be honest it clashes to what I know:

A) I have seen the catalogue official miniature pictures on tons of non official diferent angles and on diferent sets, on army battlereps with minimal phothoshop in hundreds of pages on the cry havocks I have here... I dont think its reasonable to say they painted every picture in every angle in there digitally because if you know something about digital painting is that you cannot paint something 100% accurate in diferent angles... the only thing digitally enhanced is the number of miniatures on say some rare big battle reps ( they copy pasted here and there big regiments) and some flashy BG's that tehy sometimes put on top of full images to make it flashier ( for example swirls and paper textures on top layers with some FX)

B) I have a trained eye for phothoshop ( its my profession) and the heavymetal team of rackam also posted them on cmon some had sites with tuts and color combos and ALL in diferent angles diferent light settings, diferent BG etc and guess what.... the quality of the painting is the same... Explain me how can you have the same quality if the digitall process is made by diferent persons and in a totally diferent way? Again any digital artist knows that you cannot reproduce something without some clear diferences.

C) They used photoshop to crop insert BG and some hue and saturation or sharp contrasts ( which is comon today by every painter who wants a nice pic of the mini). Calling that digital painting is wrong. Mind that these were not shaddy pics with some black backgrounds that hide shadows and distort miniature these were in your face pictures with little room to hide digital cheap tricks.

With all due respect nameless dont feel ofended if I dont trust the rumours you heard... yes they are a possibility but like I explained before its a very loooooooooong shot and makes little sense to believe theres some conspiracy on every picture ever taken and published online or on paper... both official or non official.

Either way... I dont care... they are all dead and burried!

no offence taken at all, Nav :) as I've said myself - I never got any proof for this and consider this to be rumour only :)
I was only surprised to hear from you there were no rumours, I'm confusing things etc, while you
dont know what you heard
Anyway, thanks for expert's point of view on photoshopping. Personally I don't have a good eye for this and usually can't see any modified pieces unless they are totally obvious or someone else points them out for me :) Might be easier to spot them now with your advice :)
they are all dead and burried!
they are not! there is computer game coming ;)
what's next? plush toys? tir-na-bor teddy dwarfs?

Not the specifics of it but you were quite clear in saying Rackham paintjobs were made by computer... :)

Digital painting can be hard to pick if you just change colors but if you go on blending and blurring some parts then your busted, specially if you take pic from diferent angles. Also RGB colors are very diferent from your acrylics on mini... Some people and some companies fell the temptation to enhance paintjobs because digitall can give a new layer of flashyness... I personally avoid to comment much on that but I can tell you many top painters and painthouses on CMON use the photoshop for more than cleaning the image BG and sharpen...

Good thing to see the rich world of Confrontation still inspires companies.

There's a video game in the making, first video here: https://www.gamekult.com/actu/confrontat ... 98256.html
