Funding projects on Kickstarter or other similar sites?

It is hard to judge, how well would Titan Forge do at Kickstarter. They are also not that popular in US as McVey or Reaper
But even at IndieGoGo, they the managed to know how well would their new miniatures sell, without taking the risk of producing them. This is the real power I must say...

Does anyone know some other miniature companies that have their projects on such kickstarters?

I think there were few smaller companies trying Kickstarting their stuff too.

This seems to be a very popular way to raise money for new miniatures. The only problem is now if you have enough time for it

I think Reaper and McVey (haven't looked at Titan Forge yet) have one thing in common: a very good marketing approach! They keep adding extra's on the way, drawing in more people, driving on the impulsive nature of us, gamers and miniature collectors.

Don't forget the Red Box Games project also, it's smaller, but also very well done.

Well at the moment kickstarter as well as indieGoGo (but not even close in the same league as KS!) are goldmines it seems! Even project with less atractive miniatures and strech goal rewards are very succesful!

If I had the chance to launch a project on Kickstarter I would definitly go with that as the succes rate is just so much higher!

As you guys know I've been working on a game for quite some time now (well more than one actually, too many friggin' inspiration/ideas! :boink: ) and someone is working on creating concept art right now. I need to fund the first few minis myself which has been complicated due to the birth of Lynn, new house (away went the savings! YAY!) and new job but I am almost at that point where the fucking thing can get started!!!

I hope I can find an American partner to be honest, it would make things so much convenient!

I don't think they'll do it for new yet to be established games but I can try if I cannot find more suitable options.

Well, trying doesn't cost you anything and it on the other side can provide a lot, while if you don't try, then you'll never know

If you have the concept art ready, try to find sculptors which are prepared to take the job.

Start a Kickstarter campaign showcasing your best concept art. Depending on the amount of money fetched you can use that money to pay the sculptors to start working, and get your figures cast.

I'd say try to figure out what you can have done for how much money.
