end now they look better - gold stands out nicly end "silver" parts dont concure with grey parts

a litle blicks of lights over black would help to get "Bohun like" sparkly effect

Sorry, i don´t get it what you mean with blicks of lights over black

Could you explain it further or show me an example?

He means that by placing a light source in a specific area and showing small brighter spots around the curved surfaces of the darker armour would make it much more interesting. If you look at Bohun's models he has black with highlight spots where the light is hitting it more intensely.

Here is the first WIP of the Autocannon. As my blog post says it all,, i copy it here:

I am not satisfied with the gun barrels. I tried different versions and this was the less crappy one. Don´t knowh how to paint them otherwise. Also i am really frustrated overal at the time.

I have the feeling, that i can´t do anything right, or clean, or smooth.

nah is not bad "silver part on gun looks good gold is nice to (a litle mor of bliks would add effect ) but barels - yes make them difrent now they look like haxagonal

I think the highlights are too abrupt and you could work in some more contrast into it to make it seem less grey and more metal. Darken the shadows by quite a bit as you have a lot of base colour and smooth the highlights to white so that the white is a fine line along the barrel. Great work so far though, and i really like the gold parts.

Finally, after a small painting-depression here is the final Autocannon. Now the barrels are better. Next will be the Torso.

so what did you change to make such a difference? I am asking about the change in your approach, in your technique...

or is it just the photo?

I made an other color Gradient and did more Cross-strokes while blending. Like explained in the JBT DVD.
