Pffff .. who cares ... or you like to have a marketer as your judge not a painter ??
'nuff said.
Golden Demons are probably the most popular and among the most respected painting contests, but I'd rather see models judged for their quality and not for how loud they scream Warhammer
instead of working to get our GD back, let's work on making one of the contests we have more popular and more recognized by the painting community!!

I think you misunderstood what I wrote.
No Maru I wouldn`t like a marketer to judge my minis, that is why I post them here. My post wasn`t a begging for a GD. I am wondering how will they make people like them again so they would buy at their store. I am still disappointed with what they did 2 years ago. Luckily for us (IMHO of course) it has turned out better that we have something that`s ours.
With my poor level of painting, I don`t care much if I am competing with world`s best or with polish (and portuguese) best
I always go where you guys are.

do you think it matters if people like them?
if they're going to have a wide (full?) range of products readily available, good prices and competent staff, there will surely be customers. only few people wouldn't buy at a GW store because of the GD issue.
or so I think...

I might not be a participant of painting contests but i think that an independent contest "marketing-free" and with models from all producers, not gust , GW. Is a far better thing. It migh not be supported by a corporation but than again GW is not a generous one anyway...

I wouldn't say so.
I know you guys got some issues with GW, and I know that GD itself is not the best organized event, but still it's the best known mini painting comp atm.
At this forum we are mostly painters, and from our point of view it might not seem like this, but WH and WH40k are still the most popular.
Honestly I don't get why you hate GW so much...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that GW made minis and mini related stuff so popular. Ofc there was other games and collectors minis, but Wh was the turning point.
If it wasn't for GW and their stuff, there would be no such things like Infinity, Wyrd, Soda pop, Smart Max (not mentioning independent sculptors).
And yes, GW is gaming company, and GD is strongly game-oriented event (with specific rules and judging criteria), but it's just the way it is.
If you don't like it just entry another competitions, there is plenty of it...
But please stop b****ing around about GW, it's getting old.
ps.
sorry for my bad english.
peace

It is not about GW. It is about GD itself.
It is GW related event, so no b****ing about only GW and handmade stuff allowed. But it is better to enter competition with 9.0 latest release rather than 9.8 old stuff.
Young blood, open and diorama categories are still not infested by GW'ness in my eyes.
Few words about GW Hobby Center in Warsaw.
It is good move. The store itself is nothing special, but good support for retailers is something I was waiting for a long time. Also I hope they will regulate e-sales because internet-only-retailers killed classic market with their 1pln cheaper prices.
