This model I like, I love the armour the blending is very smooth. The helmet reminds me of the Steel Legion's masks, but a nice conversion.

Trov, don't be silly, you know very well that this is an excellent mini, very good conversion, flawless painting, gloomy and dark as it should be. :) Maybe after the civil service is over, you'll see your minis also differently ;) :).

hmmmm...thanks guys ;)

I am actually satisfied how it looks in reality, the problem is that I don'T get good pictures. I will have to work on the presentation. E.g. it looks unclean in some places and also the base don't look as good as when seen IRL - imo. this pictures were just a quick shot of course, but I will definitely have to look for a "light-tend" or however it is called in english :) or something like that.

oh well I think I'm just a veeeeeeeeeeery strange character :mrgreen: just ignore me... :mrgreen:

@demi: yes, been working on it in the museum a lot.

@ulrik: I'Ve never actually seen any pics of a steel legion SM, the 3 lenses were somewhat inspired by the Matrix Sentinels, first I only wanted to do one, but then I thought 3 would look even more disturbing :) somehow "not-human". It was just an example for my sculpting/painting style: I start with a vague plan and then while I am actually work on it thw whole thing just flows and takes it'S own form.

@endrem: maybe ;)

I love the pose and the mini ... that helmet is just great. I can't really say alot about the technique, it's top notch. However this mini lacks definition, something to define it from those other nurgle marines out there. another freehand on the other shoulder pad, some extra detail on the base, some little things could help to get rid of that.

About the colours I have two little remarks. The flag pole has the wrong colour imho ... I'd make it even lighter towards the middle, now it has almost the same colour as the rust on the armour. I love the paintjb on the power fist, but this is one of the only parts that you could have painted in another colour. I can see you went for a monochrome look on this guy, but for me it doesn't work without some more freehands :)

jup, pretty much agree there. didnt have the time to do all I wanted to, since the deadline came too soon 0_o let's see if I have the nerves to put some more work into him when i get him back.

same here, bannerpole was the last thing before I painted the "freehand" on the banner, wasn't motivated to go over it again with some more layers, so the washing had to suffice :mrgreen:

sorry, no. I tried to immitate Cyrils bases, took a large round base and cut another one of these in 2 parts to make the top (of course it didnt fit 100% so I've cut away the parts that were exceeding the lower base, then filled all gaps with miliput superfine white and also modelled a layer of a bit less than 1mm in order to be able to drill clean holes on the whole surface and modeled the details, all with miliput. then I filed everything in shape and cleaned it with sandpaper.
