Well tried this evening to take photos with my old (1991) HP camera of my minis. Too fuzzy. Will try again in a couple of days.

Welcome. Pull up a barrel and set a spell. Have a pint or two and just in case nobody mentioned it, we like piccies!
Oh and I see you are ahving issues with the camera, well when they are straightened out, just post those piccies!

Got camera to work (remembered correct settings) and got some reasonable pictures. Posted in Your Showcase section called Barton's Gallery.

Posted some more pictures in my showcase. I need opinions if they are clearer than earlier posted pictures. Please look at them in the My Showcase section under Barton's Showcase and give me an opinion.
I am concerned my camera is not up to the standards this site likes.

yep, the pics didn't allow for any just and honest judgement of your minis

but why don't you just stay with us even if only to criticize works of others

Did you check out the post I made after the first pictures. Are those clear enough?

Almost any camera will do, I've seen some good pictures taken with a phone FFS!
Important points is to get the macro distance correct (my camera's macro is about 18 inches

) and your F setting as high as you can (above 8 is good) and plenty of light, daylight is best but daylight bulbs in lamps can also work but you may need to diffuse the light a bit or you'll get really strong shadows.
