removing bases from minis

You need inspiration, ideas? Not a WIP yet but still in a concept stage? Come here!

heavy clips is what i use aswell as a pair of modelling clips, clip the bulk of with the big ones the line the bottom of the foot up with the bottom of the clips and clip the last flash off, no base with a flat lump free foot. this will only work if the pewter...whatever it is is soft, like GW metal figs.

Was going to suggest an angle grinder but I doubt you have one ;)
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again :doh:

actually I think I might get one if I really need it but I can't imagine myself holding mini in one hand and operating the grinder with the other one... :pale:
I have sth similar to this:

Even using that Demi, be careful as any of the metals used in miniatures will heat up quickly and burn fingers and distort the metal to a point so take it slow and give the metal a chance to coll before it burns you!

my device was more than enough to remove all bases - it was easier than polishing wood! indeed metal for minis is soft;
