very good. I like the lighting effect a lot, and the general richness of the paintjob: richness of colors, of details, of character and attitude...
what I am missing here is a little crispness and sharpness in detailing. I know the model looks bigger than it actually is, but there's little I could suggest except for more sharpness.

That is a stunning bit of work! The light touch of osl really adds to the piece and your blends are very smooth, details are nailed. Excellent job.

I don't like these sculpts at all but with yout painting you made me look whole piece and like it a lot!

Yes, composition is a bit contrived. This is actually one good example of what happens when instead of planing you change things as you go .

I agree with Demi_morgana - this miniature is HEAVY (literally, avoid dropping it on your feet), static , too "low" and comes on a too small base for the thing of this size (it is on a 25 mm base). So, The first thing I did was changing the base to a 50 mm one. Now this is a special edition miniature that came with a collector edition of "The age of reckoning" online game so, to follow the Age of Reckoning idea I wanted this boss to be in a trashed temple of Sigmar. However, whatever you do the guy is still very stooped and weights everything down, so I figured that I put him on a door of that temple, that he smashed before entering.

After that adding remnants of the priest that was stupid enough to check what's behind the door (the rest of the priests is pressed down by the door and 2 tonnes of ork, look at his blood oozing from under the door) was only logical. Books are just there - I am sure there are plenty of those in any decent temple of Sigmar. The poor priest (the one under the door) could have carried those. Torch was taken from some vampire count carriage and slightly modified, books came from flagellants and the fire is brown putty. After most of it was sculpted I realized that the only way to fit this dude on that door is to move him to the left side of the base. So to balance THAT I had to add this small goblin to the right.

@ Arctica. Yes, I noticed the light situation. In fact, sadly, I think my camera might be malfunctioning of something. I took couple of pictures of a simple black background with this camera and another one from the same tripod and lights. Indeed right quarter is always brighter and phasier .

@Mahon. Yes, I think I see what you mean. I was trying to keep contrast high without being to obnoxious but, as often happens, was too cautious. I might come back to this model in a month or two and work on detailing more.
