Well the leg position just makes for a really good standard " ready " or " in action " pose that treads the situational middle ground well.

As for teh size of thses figures vs. LOTR figures..... I am not really sure whether they will blend together well or not really. I do not own any LOTR figures. I do know that proportionally my dwrves are smaller than GW's figures. They are roughly the same hieght, but somewhat " tighter ".
