Come on, it was my first RPG. The only I could find in this silly country all these years ago. And it was so very difficult to pick up anyway!

I played d&d only once, it was my first rpg adventure. I don't like that game, but that's not the point.
I will now simplify the history - Gary was the guy who invented rpg and made it go around the world.

and it summarizes it all. :)
it's not important if we like D&D or not. for me it got outdated. but the fact stands that it was the beginning and it's thanks to D&D that RPGs became a worldwide hobby (and the one which got me into miniatures).

RPG's, the rise of Fantasy gaming period. Fantasy Miniatures. Then came computer games, card games, etc. Gen Con. Heck, if he hadn't started it all, I'd be sitting here playing Solitaire, none of my forums would exist, but I probably would still be writing and selling more fiction because SF would have owned my soul instead of gaming. Most of my friends I've made through the gaming world. Thank you Gary!
