but I hope you can't call my posts flaming, trollling or sth like that...

yeah, I can't recall any more guests from abroad. but they came, and there's a chance we'll have even more ppl coming to GD this year. Don't get me wrong - you are all invited to come to ANY contest held in Poland, we'll be more than happy to have you here and will provide any help you need (transport, accomodation etc.)

Same applies to Polish painters. Lots of them don't care about non-GD painting competitions, even if contest quality and other issues are similar or even at higher level.

that was my point, Mahon...
so, when someone says - GD is only a hobby meeting, I allow myself to smile a bit. Not laugh, mind you. Just smile...

Stefan, why do you ask? you are always present at bazyliszek con :)

so smile at me: to me GD is just a hobby meeting. I stand no chances of winning anything. First cut would be my ultimate success. I don't fight for prizes - I only meet people and enjoy the hobby...

Now you're free to smile :D

should have been more precise, but you know that I had not had ppl like you in mind. You attended different cons, not only GD.
I also didn't want to say, that fighting for prizes (in general) is a bad thing. It is natural, that a contestant wants to win :)

Yeah, I understood you well. Just adding to the discussion :D

I agree there's nothing wrong in going hunting for awards. Just be honest and admit that's what you're after...

And i think people are mixing things; having a big big painting contest in europe is a very gooood thing but that has nothing to do with the death of a GD...
noone said that, Nav. What we said is that:
1. we'd love to see important painting contest in Europe not supported by only 1 company;
2. importance of other contests would increase if Golden Demons dissapeared.
Isnt your point 2 exactly what i said? :lol: :lol:
Your establishing a direct connection with the death of GD and the boost of other big painting comps... I think your being very very optimistic because the only thing i see with the death of gamesdays is a big hole in many countries that only have gamesday as events :(

I have no problems if any company organizes painting events for their range... and if one of those companies is the one that created those kind of events its more than natural it has more adepts and its more popular than others... again how can a recently painting competition compete side by side with the most tradicional and old painting comp in mini world?

Gamesdays are for people to meet up and for people to compete, to bring the family or a friend for a hobby weekend, thats never a good thing to lose...
