Yep, I had already grabbed this one and have a copy in my files. But thank you for posting here! Your discussion is very spot on...what i'm using these days is demimetallics...where I'm using glazes and shading similar to you...but wow, I'm inspired by the colors you use!...but my highest highlights are white mixed with the silver. What you didn't discuss were the photography aspects of the issue. NMM photos well, whereas metallics do not, and in the crazy world of better and better internet pics many people and manufacturers prefered the better nmm photos, not to mention it's a solid technique for any artist, and we've gotten a lot more artists in this hobby in the past couple decades.

But again, thank you for the article, definietly a good one!

Hi Sebastian,

I am so happy to see you here! There is nothing which cannot be re-posted here :D We even make compilations of our favorite stuff from all over the internet, and I wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few of your works there....

The article is excellent. I enjoyed reading it, but what scared me was the fact how messy I am with my preparation of miniatures. What you do with yours, all the polishing and stuff - that makes me feel even more embarassed than before.

Anyway, have fun, enjoy your stay here, find yourself a cosy place and feel at home :)

WOOHOO, I got about a dozen armoured mini's I've been playing with, nothing in your league, in fact mine look like I dipped them (DOH) so I'll be following this guide VERY CLOSELY next time I paint them!

Many thanks from a painting novice LOL

I had Sebastian's permission to post this one to the Tutorials section, but somehow haven't managed to do it until now...

So here's another tutorial for the 'blast from the past' collection. :)

Agreed, I really like the way he does his armour.
