You should choose your words with just a little more care Trovarion. If you had read the rules you would know that our competition has only one category which is open for both full sculpts and major conversions. This item was entered as scratchbuilt (technically somewhere between full sculpt & major conversion). :D

You should get to see the painted version early in the New Year Skrit. I believe Alexi is planning to improve the base a little and then when she is finished she will auction it off for Children in Need. :D

sorry mate but this its not builted from scratch its really just a convo

As for trovarion i think he is refering cheating as a artist and not cheating for your own contest

Personally I think theres no point in stamping the beastmen head because the artist could just simply use that bitz directly... As a sculptor you will learn nothing from that so your cheating yourself if you think you can sculpt a beastmen head with that "copy/paste" tecnique.

So really whats the point? I just cant understand :D

Ah! Now I understand N & T. Not an attack on the items suitability as an entry in our competition but more of a tiny personal attack on the sculptress. A pinch of malice and a touch of spite, shaken but not stirred! Thanks for making that clear. I can safely leave the items fate in the hands of our judges when the time comes. :D

Incidentally Navarro I am not certain but I think that you and me might be using slightly different interpretations of the three terms full sculpt, scratchbuilt and conversion. Not that it matters in the context of our competition as all three fall into the same category. :D

IanNewbold obviously your new here and more obviously you do not know me... if you did you would not do such bold interpretations.

I could make a big post, pointing out how futile and pettyminded "personall attacks " are YET... sorry I respect CofC and folks here and i will not go down to that level of talk.

Something is really wrong when only praise is acceptable and constructive remarks are easy labelled "personal attack " "pinch of malice ""touch of spite"...

I'm just to damn old for unilateral biased thinking sorry and heres a pointer.... look around before posting such flamable contents. :D

Now I am confused Navarro. I thought you told me Trovarion meant that Alexi had cheated as an artist and that you Trovarion then came and said that that was correct. That seems a very strange way of being constructive to me. When I am trying to be constructive I say something like "I think this could be improved by doing ..... (explanation)." And I don't have a problem with Trovarion saying what he believes. I think he is entitled to his opinion. So are you and so am I. :D

Hi DM. I too think the head looks like a GW Beastman of some sort but I think it is supposed to look like that no matter how it was created. After all the Hooflord is meant to be a Centigor. So I simply don't understand why that is an issue for anyone. I could understand someone saying "that head would be improved by....... (explanation)." At the end of the day though the judges will decide whether the head (and the rest of the HoofLord for that matter) would be fun to paint. :D

I often wonder why people who like to be critical are so sensitive about receiving criticism. I myself am more sensitive on this score than I think is desirable. :D

who said i want to be critical or even constructive? I just indicated that there's like zero artistic value in taking a plastic bit, cast it and use this, make it look like you actually sculpted it. why not use the bit itself?

I am not in the mood - and heck! it would even be such a waste of time that i could use on fun stuff like sculpting - to turn this into a quote-fest ala "but you said...", "and this word here could indicate..."

hate me for what i say - back there somewhere is the end of the line - but there's no need to analyze me, I will probably not read it anyway...

for everything beyond that i will refer to my signature...

P.S.: ok, ok, because I am having a good day today I might add: That head would be improved by (explanation: if it were hand-sculpted and not cast!) now where's my cookie......

Well, I don't care if it was sculpted or just pressed from a mold. Of course, if it was sculpted it would be technically and skill-wise impressive. But even if it's not - it can be impressive concept-wise. It doesn't have to be, but it can.

I was surprised to see Alexi Z sculpting (or converting) at all, and that was enough for me to appreciate the effort.

I am far from being a person who cannot be criticized and who would accept only praises. But I think you guys are a bit picky. You already told you believe ity's just a copy of the original head and you're not impressed. I didn't notice (but I might've just not been focused enough) any personal attacks. I really appreciate Alexi's decision to participate in the charity event (has any of you guys did?) which makes me a bit more tolerant to some issues with the sculpt.

And Trov, we know, you're just jealous ;)
