I checked it and... there really was an English version 2004... however, due to Server Problems there is no English Version THIS year... there will be 2008 for sure (the translation is just about to begin...)...
So it is not declared as a international contest this year... stupid, but I will try to help you where I can...

As we could see from the numerous contributions in the hobby forums, there are many among you, who showed us some ingenious painting -, modelling and tinkering art.
Also we noticed that competitions, which have painting and tinkering as a topic always have a very big popularity. These competitions are very exciting and interesting and it is always a joy to be able to admire to such a large number of brilliant work!
Due to the fact, that we of the GW - Fanworld team primarily are hobbyists just as you, we tried to find a way of improving either your and our painting skills! The competition was born - The Golden Angel Painting Contest!
This competition is for all among you, who love to paint miniatures and build terrain, for all, who love this very important aspect of our hobby! But enough, let´s come to the necessary things, the rules and data:
The categories: There are 9 different categories:
1.) Fantasy Single Miniature
2.) Fantasy Unit
3.) SciFi Single Miniature
4.) SciFi Unit
5.) Large-Scale Model
6.) Terrain
7.) Theme Category
8.) Modelling
9.) Masterclass
Category explanation:
* 1. Fantasy Single Miniature: In this category all individual miniatures may be submitted, which can be related to any fantasy world. The miniature may be from any manufacturer and also converted or completely sculpted. It should be represented on it´s original standard base (from the original box / the blister / the package). In addition all Bases, which are smaller than 50 mm (also 25 x 50 mm Bases) count as "Fantasy Single Miniatures"!
* 2. Fantasy Unit: A unit from any fantasy environment may be submitted here, it should be rule-conformal and at least five models strong. The models may also be converted or sculpted. They can be made by any manufacturer. The models should stand on their original bases. In addition they have to be smaller than 50 mm (25 x 50 mm bases also count in here).
* 3. SciFi Single Miniature: See the rules above. The miniature should be in the context with a futuristic environment. The manufacturer is also arbitrary.
* 4. SciFi Unit: Similar to the Fantasy Unit Category. The Unit has to be rule - conformal and located in a futuristic environment. The Unit should consist of at least five models.
* 5. Large-Scale Model: Models such as vehicles, war - machines, monster, models of larger scale. The miniature of any manufacturer may be converted (as usual). Models, that stand at least on bases of 50 mm or more, and / or don´t have real bases (only "homemade" bases) count as "Large - Scale Models".
* 6. Terrain: Each piece of terrain may be submitted in this category. It is important to note that the terrain hast to be what the name says: Terrain only. This means that miniatures are not allowed to occur in the Terrain. However, Bitz and small pieces are allowed. The maximum size of the Terrain is 40 x 40 x 40 cm.
* 7. Theme Category: Into this category fit contributions, which follow a certain topic. The details of this category are not important as long as they stick to the given topic. The theme in this year is winter and / or Christmas (e.g. snow)!
* 8. Modelling: The Modelling Category is free for all Scratchbuild, Sculpted or Converted entries of any kind and size. Feel free to mix all parts you want to in order to create a magnificent, individual piece. You can also hand in already painted Models, the Jury will then judge on the Conversion / Sculpt only.
* 9. Masterclass: This category was furnished particularly for all those, which may rank themselves high also among the best painters in the world. Here these "masters" can measure among themselves and determine the best of the best! Also the Teammembers may participate here (and only here!). Into this category thereby all work may be brought, which would be certified after one of the other eight categories.
It has to be said, that only (due to the understanding of the jury) appropriate bases / undergrounds / decorations are permitted (the ones additional to the original bases) and that the miniature in general has to stand on their respective original base. For the sake of fairness the organization / the expenditure of the decorative underground will not be evaluated.
The data:
The contributions can be submitted in the period from 22. September 2007 untill 01st December 2007.
From the 02nd December 2007 the public gallery opens. The Jury votes the Finalists until 20th December 2007.
The Winners will be declared until 31st December 2007.
All visitors of the Golden Angel Contest Page can then rate all contributions by giving them points from 1 (very good) to 6 (really bad).
Now, after reading this, let´s try to answer some possible question:
1. Who is in this jury?
The jury consists of a group of persons, who proved their authority several times in the past concerning either painting, sculpting and / or converting. The jury consists of the following persons:

2. Who may do participation?
Each user of GW Fanworld (https://www.gw-fanworld.net) is authorized to participate in the Golden Angel Contest. Moderators and Administrators / Teammembers of GW Fanworld may only participate in the Masterclass Category. The members of the jury are completely excluded from the participation.
3. What happens, if someone achieves several trophies?
If a person should be able to achieve a bigger number of Golden Angel trophies then this will be certified. At the Golden Angel Contest in 2008 this competitor will be able to start in the Masterclass Category only. This "larger number of trophies" classifies itself as followed:
One or more Golden Angels
Two or more Silver Angels
Three or more Bronze Angels
4. How should the contributions be represented?
Each participant should make a small number of meaningful pictures of its contribution. Three pictures are ideally (one with a frontal -, side and back caption of the work; exceptions must be inquired with the jury). In these pictures a sign should be recognizable beside the contribution, on which the users name and its individually assigned code is to be read. Terrain have to have a measuring tool nearby, so that one can reckon the dimension and / or the mass.
Consider the following with the sent in pictures please:
The resolution should be 1600x1200 pixel at least.
Your pictures may be edited with a picture editing program by yourself, but this includes the options of changing the brightness and the size of the picture ONLY. Other editing (manipulation of sharpness, color, contrasts and all other changes for example) are not permitted. We trust in you as an artists that you don´t cheat. We offer you to revalue your pictures with a editing program in the best possible way if you wish this. To do so simply send the original pictures in and ask for help!
You can send us your pictures by clicking on the "Registration" Button above.
The pictures are then sorted into the general gallery, in order to present it to the publicity.
5. Will the Golden Angel Contest repeat also next year?
Yes! The Golden Angel Contest starts from this year and it is an annually returning event.
To the conclusion still the most important! The prices! A good competition does not live from acknowledgment and honour only!
In each category for the first three placements the following prices are lent: *
For the first place in a category the winner gets one Golden Angel trophy.
For the second place in a category the winner receives a Silver Angel trophy.
For the third place in a category the winner receives (surprise...) a Bronze Angel trophy.
In the Masterclass Category the prices are given differently :
Only the best / first contribution within the Masterclass will be awarded with the Mithril Angel
You will now surely ask yourself what this mystical multicolor Angel exactly is?
This will be a special miniature, which is exclusively reserved as an acknowledgment for this contest! It is modelled specially and will never occur to be bought in any respect again.
Now still the small print: With the delivery of the pictures at GW Fanworld you agree for the pictures being presented in a public gallery.
Contributions, which already received a price in another contest earlier will not be accepted!
The course of law is impossible!
