I use a black undercoat, but because this is usually too dark and as someone mentioned it's very hard to paint yellows and flesh over black undercoat. So I take my white spraypaint and hold it at a 45° angle over the miniature from a distance of about 30cm. that way the higher parts of the miniature receive a white basecoat while the recesses stay black.

Yeah, the primer I've started using exclusively (duplicolor) allows a very fine mist/dusting to happen, so it's not too hard to do the white over black.

Ok, well I live in Holland so I don't know if you can find it here, if anyone know a place where I can get that that ell be great...Skrit? Mordred? Corvus?

I doubt you'll find it there, sorry Django. It is a sandable automotive primer. Some automotive primer comes out very slick and paint won't stick to it, so you probably shouldn't try them at random.

I use black for most of my minis, but white if I want my colors to be bright and vivid - which is a rare thing

No, it's not that old. But it is surely as old as miniature painting

I'll add anothe dimension to this discussion. Andrea is selling grey primer. What about such colour?

I used to use grey basecoat and I was 100% satisfied with this color
actually... I have no idea why I came back to black one...

I used grey once and was very happy with it. But I think I was used to black one and it's why I returned to it...

Also the fact that it's not sold so randomly might have something to do with sticking to black... I wanna try it out too!:)
