Yeah, some stuff is still getting posted, but it seemed (anecdotedly, granted) that everyone I spoke to was saying how quiet CofC has been the last month or so.
The last time I did the contest it was designed to get people posting, and it had 3 categories of contestants, each able to pick out one mini up to a certain monetary amount of their choice. Only a few people actually told me they wanted to play, but the activity level picked up a good bit despite people not actually trying to get a prize. Funny, that.
Well, I set the poll to run for 7 days, so we'll see how many responses I get. If I get a good number of responses in favor of a contest, then we'll see what I can come up with.

About me: I have to take care of my family and hobby goes to a lower priority. To be able to fulfill the first, I have to work a lot, and on the top of this we are gonna move on the 20th to a bigger house. This altogether is enough for me to slip to the passive side. I still come regularly and read the news, check the new works, but rarely take the time to post. These times reading these forums and some certain other sites (2 actually) is my only connection to the hobby... Which is sad and hard for myself too. I hope after the moving I'll be able to get back to paint a bit again.
If a contest takes place with reasonable deadlines, I will try to finish something, though.

I don't mind a contest, but I can't take active part in it too. I try to post regularly on these boards, and I think I'm doing pretty well at it, but I wo'nt be moticated to post more often if there is a contest

my story:
I've been working 80km away from my home for last several weeks and (because I also live there monday-friday) I don't have too much time and opportunity to post stuff etc...
contest could be good idea...

I hope much more people will participate than in polish cofc painting contest...

I COULDNT SPAM YESTERDAY AT WORK, SINCE THE DARN INTERNET WAS FRAGGED!!!!
apart from that I wasnt even supposed to work, then a colleague got "sick" and I had to. People pissed me off majorly, I had to do other peoples work again, had something to sculpt with me but all my inspirations were online so no sculpting. In the end I missed 10 Euro and it took me till 19:15 till I got out (usually get out at 18:30) I really had a nice day at work yesterday.
As for the topic: I dont remember the old contest I think, but let's have a new one

Ok, well... much as I love you guys (and gals?), I don't think I'm going to run a contest based on 15 responses. However, maybe the posting will go up a touch since I made some noise....?
I can hope.

and you expected more than that, Tanya? most people would love to get this many responses in a week...
if you wish, I can run the poll on the main page of CofC for you.
as for prizes, we have several folks willing to offer some stuff...

Aww.. well I do not think the compo is needed but maybe fun. Even if I probably would not enter, my dwarves must come first. I only have ohh.. a bit to do. But yes, I voted for SWAG. Everyone wants SWAG.
