NAVARRO wrote:hope it helps for future freehands.
Thanks, Nav. In all honesty, I mostly was in a hurry and didn't pay much attention to which color went where when I did those. I was just proud that they didn't end up as a blotch of color... I've not done a lot of freehand, and that was the first attempt at a pattern/swirl sort of thing I've ever done.

This was a contest that ran during the month of August, and all painting had to be done at the store. So I had to carry in my stuff each time, and it was the month that I took about 6 days away for GenCon. The paint schemes weren't original on my part. I went with what Rackham had done (or tried to).

And as for winning the competition, I never actually got officially told that. I was told "everyone that entered won a little something" a few days ago, but that's all.

Another good one :D Nice smooth blends and again your weathering is nice. I think you should win a little something more than the rest, but thats just me

Thanks for the good comments and ideas for future stuff, folks. I appreciate them.

And I just can't get away with much with Wes around... ;)

haha, thats a hillarious mini! And you did a great job on it! The fake horse head in particular I really like, both the white and the blue are very nicely done

woooow! nice! somehow I seem to have missed it before.

Navarro is right about the freehands, but other than that it's a pretty good job! I love the checkered surfaces. I'd add more highlighting to the NMM plates' edges maybe to make them more shiny?

Very well painted also, nice choice of color. Maybe some work on the base?
