it was an existing stealer head but i filed away most of the details, except the eyes, then sculpted everything, including the tentacles from there

Personally, I think the paintjob is good, but may be just that people has set a high expectation from the painter - Trov. And I like the diorama, the ruined terrain, the flag, and the head on his hand, all together tell us a story and a scene.

I like it, the skin is quite well done and I like the darker red. The only thing I'm unsure of is the helmet looks rather like it's being held quite delicatly (damn my spelling!! ie, gently) and is barely within the grasp of the claw.
