I have photos of my last paintwork

Like most minis from GW this one needed a lot of work to make surfacess smooth.
But the rest of work was pleasure, because I liked this miniature very much.
I didn't get any instructions, so the whole vision belongs to me - this time I can't blame anyone else
I hope you share your opinions about it - comments are always welcome.

Re: What's new from Ana?
Wow, i've been staring at this for the last few minutes and im blown away. The freehand is really well done and neat and the way it is highlighted is really cool
the transitions of his skin to the tentacles are well done and the patterning adds to that too. The NMM is great very convincing but i think that some of the large flat spikes could have a very a smoother transition by your standards
but still it's better than most anyway, i think the only part i noted was the front spike. The other thing which i think was a little off is that on his thigh's you've highlighted them wonderfully with accompanying freehand, now if the whole cloth was assumed to be patterned i think more of the patterning would show up on the lower areas at the front of the model as i think there is a bit too much shadow there on some of the folds, where as the back of the model you've done the highlighting of the cloth near the bottom areas. I still think this is truly an amazing piece and wow.

Re: What's new from Ana?
supercool...
only thing I don't really like are those green lightnings (?) on the disk. they don't look convincing and I can't understand why they are painted on the front section only.

I never liked the green lightnings, too. I thought they're there to conceal some imperfections of the model, but no, the model is smooth there. so it was intentional, and I still don't like it.

As for the freehand, what can i say but :suicide:
Re: What's new from Ana?
Thanks a lot, guys!
I already noticed that the green lightnings don't look as good as I thought they would look on the photos.
I already know what I might change in the future.
As for the shadows - I wanted to use strong contrasts and changing colors from highlights to shadows. My interpretation of Tzeentch ever-changing nature and appearance. I also wanted to keep the freehands more visible on highlighted parts and fading in shadows. I just thought it would be cool and more interesting than putting them everywhere.
Thanks once more and I am glad you liked it

Re: What's new from Ana?
For several years, she was in my display cabinet and I always liked her in spite of the shortcomings of the paintjob (the tights were quite a courageous move
and I was always proud of them). However, for some time I felt like repainting and improving her - I noticed the lack of shadows and contrast after all these years. I hope that this refreshed version will be enjoyed by Arctica as much as it is by me:)

I think it's such a cool mini and the repainting you've done shows a big difference in how you used to paint and now. Im really happy with the mini
. The detailing on the face makes a huge effect, it's very crisp and clear on your revamp. The tights and the red on the model were good back then. Again, thank you very much Ana
