Re: Tomaz's WIP's
I figured it's time to stop fooling around and put some decent effort in my figs again. I've been slacking lately and I need to further improve my skills
I started on this Celtic warrior from Andrea Miniatures. Yay skintones
The chest area is almost finished but still needs a bit of colour and smoothing. The arms, back and face still need a lot more work. I like to split my fig up in different sectors, keeps me more interested.

If I can finish this in time, I will probably take it to Crisis '09 and enter it in the competition.
C&C as always welcome

Re: Tomaz's WIP's
Wow a great start, the upper chest muscles are done very well in my eyes. One little thing is that i think the shadows between the stomach muscles seem a bit too much and easily corrected at this early wip stage, i think they are too spread out especially on the lower portion, but other than that it looks to be a promising start.

Re: Tomaz's WIP's
@ Skrit: Saturday the 7th of November. https://www.tsoa.be/html/crisis09_titelblad.htm PS: I just noticed there is going to be a Smart Max stand... my wallet is going to hurt...
I've followed the sculpt in order to figure out were most of the highlights and shades go, but the muscles on his stomach are sculpted pretty far apart. I'll try to correct that either by making the shades lighter or make the muscles themselves appear bigger.
Thanks for the comments
Yeah I thought so too but wasn't sure to either correct it or leave it when I was painting them...arctica wrote:One little thing is that i think the shadows between the stomach muscles seem a bit too much and easily corrected at this early wip stage, i think they are too spread out especially on the lower portion

Re: Tomaz's WIP's
Update. 90% of the skin is finished. I need to add tattoos and some final highlights + colour. I have started on his trousers, but I might change the darker stripes to a more red brown colour because now they blend in too much with the shades of the lighter stripes. And I worked on his base, but need to add some more stuff to it.

Re: Tomaz's WIP's
I agree with Nav here, it's really really well painted but the colour of the skin and the trousers are very similar, i think maybe darkening the trousers a bit might help? Might look different in real life too
I think the progress of the muscles looks alot better now too.
