The Worm Lords (deathguard)

Post by NAVARRO »

Hi folks, summer time vacations is here and I took the freetime to work on something really fun just for myself this time.

For some time I wanted to make a small terminator heavy deathguard army, so I started sculpting some normal Plague marines.
Without further delay I introduce you, The Worm Lords.

THis one was done many months ago for a project that never really took off so he was kind of the first to be done.

These next 3 Plague marines were done just recently in my vacations.

And the familly picture

To finish this squad I need to make 3 more Plague marines, 2 of them with meltas... and a Rhino.
So this is my last mini project and I'm having lots of fun with it.
(please dont ask me for other projects i have on my table this is vacations time  )

Great sculpts!!

Just a ting I was wondering. Those metal "tubes" sticking out of one guys face - How did you make those? Is it some sort of premade wire or have you made em' yourself?

I Like the organic parts, the faces are great. But imo some of the armourplates and details lack a bit of sharpness, which would make them look even better

Wow, those sculpts look great :D so smooth and clean too. Can't wait to see them painted up. Im guessing you'll be converting up the rhino you have planned to fit with them? :D

They are guitar strings mate :D

Yes theres lots of mistakes and errors on these, but I think its part of the balance between making a 50 figure army and not just one mini... some errors i just let them slide for the sake of ending this on my lifetime

Artica yes Im making the rhino atm and I can tell you this, space marine or tank modelers purists will hate me so much since I'm doing something really stupid with my planned 3 rhinos for the 3X 7man squads... yet its damn fun and its for my personal collection so as long as I'm happy with my silly stuff I guess no harm is done!

Nurgle FTW! ( I have the tendencie of falling in crazy projects instead of finishing the ones I started XD )

technically they're fine, but there's something about them which makes me think: something's not quite right.
may be the poses (very expressive and dynamic), maybe the soft and bloated armor, don't really know.

As I said - it's something about the overall composition and stances, not the quality...
