Otherworld Skeleton WIP

Post by tidoco2222 »

I was recently asked by the proprietor of Otherworld Miniatures if I would paint up some of the Skeletons from his range. I agreed because I love the models and this is what I have come up with so far. I wanted them to look dirty like they had not been too long out of the ground. The flagstone bases were supplied and used by the clients request,

I will be painting all the bases at the same time when a batch is finished. There are three minis per blister pack and I am currently about a half way through the second mini. Anyone interested in these or any other minis from Otherworld can find them here, I can heartily recommend the Hobgoblins sculpted by Kev Adams.

looks great :) nice clean sculpts with nice clean paint jobs. Maybe add some hints of brigher highlights on the zenithal areas such as the top of the skull etc maybe? but still great work :)

Good to see you again Tim!!

Nice skellie so far, but I have to agree with Arctica that some zenithal spots would improve it even further. Also, if he would be fresh out of the ground, some greenish tones in the shades would add to that effect I think.

Keep us updated! ;)

as always I like your paintjob but I think some more highlights would make the model much more interesting

Thanks guys, @nameless very direct but to the point. I may go back and try and dirty him up a bit but I don't have alot of time and I have a few to do so I am trying to balance a decent paint scheme against limited time. Anyhow here are some more shots of the first one and then a WIP shot or two of the second

I am trying to balance what I want to do with what the customer wants and it isn't that easy. When all six of these are done I will then do all the bases and add any final highlights, glazes and finishing touches then.

Yup your metallics are very good as always. You might want to add a bit more rust on the axe, I can see it's there, but a bit too soft IMO. And a couple of spots of verdigris would really complete the shield I think :)

Nice skellies. ToMaZ is spot on with the verdigris on the shield.

The other models I've seen on their site remind me a bit of a mix between oldskool Citadel, grenadier and Ral Partha in one. I like the pig faced Orks a lot! :)
