sea.man`s WIPs

Post by sea.man »

ahoj!

Finally back to painting after the Christmas break :-)
On my desk currently there are:
- Orc Warboss ? only the boar is finished, next step are the metallics

- a unit of Dwarf Slayers ? here I began with the hair, so 33% of each mini is finished :-). The dwarf with double handed axe is one of my first attempts to paint NMM.

Please share your opinions!

you have to come up with a shorter nick, czlowiek.morze ;)
sometimes - short is good. like a short comment: more contrast!

I like the brown-reddish colour of the Slayer hair, better then bright 'everybody can see me in the dark' you usually see.

What I don't like is the tiger motiff on the boar. ;)

@nameless - I suggest "cz.m" or "sea.man" :P

I think contrast is never a bad thing ;) I'd suggest some more shadows on the hair and beards of slayers, and then glazing them with an even coat of orange or warm brown color to unify the colors a bit. The sculpt is good there so it shouldn't be a problem.

As for the chipped paint on the boar, I think it doesn't look very convincing. I think you could check the tips I posted in Gareth's showcase thread. Or maybe ork tanks in Benathai's gallery?

I agree with Mahon about the battle damage, its not convincing, but i think a few touches here and there it will look alot better. I really like what you're doing with the dwarf hair tho, i think they will look really good. Great stuff :)

@mahon
I found your tips in Gareth`s thread. I`ll try to use them.

@skrit
I don`t know how actually could I add to the boar`s skin. I`ll try to think of something.
