strange ... I just posted pictures of my new mordheim model on coolmini, and posted the links on some of the forums that I visit. I started out with a 9, because that is what I am aiming for. I know it will never go that high on coolmini, but I can't paint without ambition. Now after two votes both pictures are at 5.0 ! so that means someone gave it a 1 or a 0 . I'm not a world class painter, but I'm damn sure that my mini's are worthy of more than that. so this can only mean one thing : I have been sniped ( pretty clumsy to do it on the first vote though ) , or a total retard accidently clicked on the wrong side of the scoring ladder.
I can't really say I'm bothered with this ... actually I think it's pretty cool :p
the only thing that bugs me is that my mini's don't come out on the score they are supposed to. on 100 votes one or two 1's don't matter, but I'd still like to see my scores reflect my skills, so I know when and what to improve.
now my question ... who the hell has time for such bull crap ?

No I seriously gave both a 9 for two reasons: I really love the look and quality of all you Mordheim mini's and I saw the 5 and a 6 and I didn't think it was right for your painting level. Don't get why ppl do such things... jealousy?

thats why i really dont bother much about CMON scores... its a bit random and besides bad pictures dont do justice to minis. i rather have forum buddies feedback than a silent score on CMON... but since you have been sniped let me search for the 10 score button

as NAV said. please forget the fact that CMON scores will ever be "fair". there are both the snipers that vote down the ordinary painter, and then there's the fanboy that votes 10 on every mini an artist with a "well known name" and post the additional "wow you are god, I love you!!!!1111"

I've stopped bothering about CMON a looooooooooooong time ago. I still post my minis there because a wider range of people is reached...it's not more, not less.

despite the weird style of voting some people use, it's still a good indication of what people think. If I want advice about my technique, I'll trust the people on this forum.
But take a painting contest in Belgium for example. Most of the judges at those things are retarded or can't paint. I'm sorry I have to be so harsh about this but it's the painful truth. Now my results at painting comps reflect more my 'popular score' than my 'technical score'. so coolmini is still useful for me.

I join the others: I don't think you should take CMON so seriously...
Would be nice to have a better alternative to CMON. I know there is Agora, but with that I have somehow the feeling it is not that sympathetic from the design point of view. Maybe the engine is good underneath, though.
