:rip: Gary...
If it wasn't for the guy I don't know how many of us wouldn't be here...

I remember learning first Car Wars with my high school friends, then going to WisCon (convention in Madison) and our high school group eventually played a lot of different rpg's. Growing up in the Lake Geneva area (Twin Lakes is about 15 minutes away, Madison about a bit over an hour), Art's sister was heavily into D&D, and when she went off to college all her stuff went to my husband. We still have that original (white box) set today. Art's parent's talk about supporting his D&D habit because at least it got him reading and doing math!
I'm not sure what exactly the definition of geek is, but we were always more into rpg's than sports. We were smart kids looking to have fun together that didn't include drinking, sex, or drugs. So we ate M&M's, cheese puffs, and drank coca cola while we played the weirdest things. Still, our parent's were supportive if not understanding what we did.
So thank you, Gary Gygax, for helping bring out some of the better times, the friendliest times, the funniest times of my life, both in the past and today. My life is better and richer for it.
May the Great DM in the sky welcome you into his gaming group.

What more can be said.I started the whole hobby from RPG sessions, so like Mahon said probably wouldn't be here without this guy.

Never, ever, cared much for D & D but such a thing is always a loss to the gaming industry.
