some nurgle advice needed

Post by frodoz »

yeah, I've got to repaint my warzone nepharite beacuse he looks boring as wee can see. I want to paint him like some nurgle stuff. Ya know, his undead at all. But how to do it? Have got any tips to share?

Sorry my poor English but I'm lazy.

Hi Frodoz,

I would highlight the muscles a bit more - this would add some more definitoon to them. This doesn't necessarily mean he would be cleaner - you can always use muted and dirty colors for highlighting, but I would still pull the highlights up a bit more.

The rest seems to be pretty good, but the photo is a bit dark...

Hi frodoz! :D
it's nice to see here somebody else from poland playing warzone... 8)
about nurgle - try to use many washes: brown, flesh or even green can bring nice effects...
and of course classic nurgle colours: bubonic brown, catachan green and such

:curtain: btw - don't forget to "say hi" in a proper section
I hope You will enjoy being here :D

Hi Mahon
This is only scan - dad took digital camera. This mini is now clean and will be repainted so I need ideas how to handle with this.

Hello Demi
Put washes in this order? I've never used washes, only layering and drybrushing.

try them. they re cool! but don't use them the simple way - letting them flow, but apply them in a controlled manner. use them as thin and semi transparent paints.

i dillute mine until they are transparent and apply them in layers in some areas - usually the shaded ones.
using such thin and transparent paints gives you much control and applying one over another allows to create really cool effects!

I would use green and brown colors and then stain them a lot with washes. Don't use primary and shapr colors, use muted versions of them. You could even try complimentary shading (shading not by adding black or the same color in darker version, but by addding the complimentary color) - this would make the mini a biut more realistic

I can say I like gw andvallejo the most - I have some pactras but I don't really use them now;
but it's just my personal opinion - use paints You feel comfortable with and that's all
