bye, bye...

Post by Demi_morgana »

looks like the last stand of gw minis with character has just fallen:

"I spoke to Andy Hall at Games Day UK on Sunday.

For the past few years, Specialist Games have had a release window every six months - a January release and a Summer release. The last of such releases was the Warmaster Araby release.

However, I have now been told that GW do not intend to release any more models for the Specialist Games. Unless GW starts doing well again, the Specialist Games suddenly become popular, or there is some massive change in demographic, GW will not be creating new Specialist Games models ever again.
"

rest of topic here :(

Sad news , but not very surprising. They have not been supporting SG properly for years. SG were surely first on the list of "to be closed in case of financial issues"

The best stuff.. The least mainstream, the most characterful, the most enjoyable.... is going?

Not much left in the world of GW games for me, except for the fluff...

And think that someone told me week ago: "Hey! Don't start playing Warmachine. This system will die soon. Start Mordhaim or Necromuna."
How much was he wrong. It's very sad.

Well, that's why I meant only GW games - not models. I really like quite many of them, including their Imperial Guard tanks :)

I guess theres no chance for spacehulk revival on the horizon... Like a good bug i have to adapt... metal is going away more and more and specialist stuff is metal heavy... nevertheless i think with current WFB and 40k releases we can convert some to our fav game, just need the rules up... a shame for BFG, inquisitor, warmaster that are in diferent scales so the 28mm doesnt fit.
Also i would trade Lotr stuff for specialist any day, since it appeard as GW 3rd game it killed all specialist support... a shame really.

Oh well still have my bugs and a second 40k army on the cards. The stuff that used to catch my attention and money are changing or simply disapearing these days.
