I like them. I think that more dynamic poses would destroy that gloomy feel I like most.
But they could benefit from more varied poses.

There are not that many different poses, that's true, but I like them, too. I can imagine them threateningly standing somewhere on a hill, watching the enemy advancing.
They make me remember some older Indian movies where the Indians were standing on the rocks watching the caravan passing in the valley
