cryx
my bad. i hardly ever play Eiryss, so I forget what phantom seeker ignores. I much prefer taking an Amon list and throwing 4" AOEs with the Vanquisher at him.

I know there's topic about dirty tricks on PP forum... but I can't resist posting here what I managed to do during the last battle
my cryx army led by goreshade was facing karchev (yup: that big, mean, almost undestructable caster jack
), until the troops came really close I wasn't sure how to bite such a piece of junk but all in all...
I started by shooting karchev with pistol wraith: while frozen by wraithlocks he had do forfeit moveing or action but I also casted mage blight; karchev couldn't engage any of my models and I was reary to throw black oil on it next turn - seriously debuffing stats + NO casting spells!
nasty...

after long break we finally had warmachine game!
last night cryx led by mean b!tch skarre kicked kradorian panzer-ass
because I painted skarre some time ago but had no opportinity to test her I wanted to surprise my opponent and decided she'll lead cryx instead good-ole-mageblight-spammer goreshade the "B";
my junk:
-skarre
-deathjack
-bane thralls
-mechanithralls
-bile thralls
-2 pistol wraihs
-machine wraith
-gorman di wulffe
what I learnt:
as it was my 1st battle using new warcaster I wasn't sure what can expect from her - I know I'll be using sartificial lamb and sactificial strike as often as I can - these two surprised me really nice: during my final round skarre had 12 FOC points - all used against karchev!
-skarre: nasty caster - even more: VERY nasty! although I didn't get the opportunity to get into melee her spells and special action were enough to turn khador caster into pile of junk; nasty combo was getting bane thralls into btb contact with karchev (-2 ARM because of dark shroud ), then launching feat (-5 life boxes on skarre but all cryx models in her control area fot +5 STR and ARM), than sactificial strike on bane thrall (boosted hit causing 15+5+3d6 damage against 18 ARM of karchev) and finally hellfire 3 times in a row - two of the boosted
-deathjack: killed eiryss with necrivent and grey lords with fly's kiss - that was fun watching lords' leader exploding and killing his brothers in arms
-bane thralls, mechanithralls, bile thralls: used for feeding deathjack and skarre; too bad bane thralls had no opportinity to engage enemy units but sacrificial strike artillery worked well enough as well
-2 pistol wraihs: death chilling enemy jacks - nothing new but that's what these guys do the best
-machine wraith: nothing worth mentioning this time
-gorman: as always placing smoke bombs and during final round hit karchev and destroyer with black oil drastically decreasing their defence and blinding them; still one of my fav units
next time I hope to test denegra or the coven if I manage to paint them on time

these two are totally different casters: both require different tactics: goreshade is imo "supporting" caster while skarre can get into melee and mess with anyone (her "feat" + knocking down attack)
I must say I was really enjoying that game - probably because I've been using goreshade only for too long time
I want to test another army led by skarre - I'll probably drop one of thralls units and machine wraith to get some arn nodes: during last battle I really regreted I had 4-5 unspent FOC points for 3 rounds and no way to cast boosted hellfire or fly's kiss on creeping grey lords

tonight 2 games against khador using skarre and deneghra...
karchev towing kodjaks which can charge after that is a sh!t uber all sh!ts!!!
EDIT:
several thoughts after getting sober ^^
*in the first battle cryx force was lead by skarre - I fielded lots of infantry but no hard-hitting units (no bane thralls, no DJ...); I was afraid that wihout any debuffs skarre will have problems with damaging khadorian heavy jacks but all in all it wasn't impossible; besides game without DJ or banes was really nice change - and surprise for the opponent
*in second battle I fielded denehgra - IIRC for the very first time after I learnt how to play... the battle was over in the second turn and denny survived with single damage box!
conclusions:
-deneghra: the b!tch has great set or really sweet debuffs and upkeep spells, even more nasty if there're banes or gorman around
-atramentous crew: ridiculous cc weapon (p+s=9...) and pretty expensive (77pts for base squad) but thanks to the deathbound they're great for holding heavy jacks still;
-necrotech: one of rare games when that model wasn't useless
immobilise works really fine, too bad the necrotech is so slow and fragile
-bloat thrall: great for solving problems of doom reavers or alexia's deaders crew; it's good to have atramentous crew and bloat in the battlegroup: bloat's ranged attack causes cmd check, and fleeing units in pirates' cmd range make them immune to damages for one round!
-kodiak: hate them - if affected by karchev's tow they can move 12" dragged by the caster and after that can charge for free - another 7"!!!
