very nice work ! if you still want to improve the blades, try making the final white highlights abit bigger, like more sun is reflecting on them. Also, go for a dark grey as final shading, not pure black. If you want you can try adding abit of rust to the base of the blades.

On the mini's themself : great work ! I really like the celtic feel and the simplicity of the bases. However grey stone + grey boots don't mix. It looks like they have grown to the ground. Abit of static grass here and there could solve that imho.

Okay, knowing how small these minis are and seeing the great detaila nd the first time NMM technique used, I am starting a small bonfire here to start burning my brushes. Anyone care to join me??

Fantastic work on these Ana!!!!!

Better yet, maybe I should send them to Mahon and Ana to have them bless them. Maybe some of thier talent will flow into them. . . .

weee nice, you really got the knack of NMM. If I may criticise a little something, then I'd have to say the sword of the one the right looks a bit odd, you should have painted a gradient from top to bottom, since it'S almost vertical (just saw it's the same on the one on the left). just like you did on the second one from left - thing of the gradients as fixed and rotate the sword in your mind, the gradient should stay the same on ne side and be the other way round on the other side of the blade.

you got the horizontal blades right though imho and the look pretty good!

Appart from the NMM I especially like the bases, really nice idea there! the skin looks smooth and the body paint is nicely executed as well.

I?ve never had a chance to see such blades (a kichen knife it is not the same  )
I?m not sure if I understand you, but I found your sword and with your mini everything is comprehensible :D

now I know what do you mean :)

This mini about which you wrote, it was my first. Next was second from left, and then I should have done somthing different with the gradient, and then I found the right placement for the gradient  But now i see this stupidity on this first sword.

Thanks for help
Very very much

 any more tips or hints?

Now, I'm not much of a fan of NMM - I find it too overused and cartoony.. oh and I can't do it (not good enough yet) - but these I like. Very nicely done and they look great.

It's cool Ana, you got it right on the horizontal blades instantly (very very good for a first try). you just didn't think it would look different when aligned in another way, no big deal :) just look at a lot of reference pictures and you get the idea better and better :) has nothing to do with stupidity ;)
